A horseback route is something fun, relaxing and beneficial for the body and mind; plus if you do it by the countryside and with friends, it becomes awesome. A couple of weeks ago we decided to do it. Around 10 o’clock in the morning we were all by Artequus equestrian centre, it was a beautiful and sunny day. We all prepared our horses while in the background we listened to some beautiful guitar music.
As always, before leaving we try to warm our horses up by walking with them just riding them. Our horses love going for a walk, they even enjoy it more than we do. So once we are all ready, we don’t think it twice, we are leaving!
Routes on horseback by the countryside in Malaga
In our routes on horseback in Malaga we always have a great time, enjoy the landscapes, laugh, talk and share among all. We usually go walking. When walking, a horse’s legs follow this sequence: left hind leg, left front leg, right hind leg, right front leg, in a regular 1-2-3-4 beat. In that way we appreciate and enjoy the beauty and peace of the countryside in Alhaurin de la Torre, but sometimes we also trot a little and even some of us can enjoy galloping. This Sunday we had two special guests, two friends of the house who do not usually ride much, we gave them the most noble and quiet horses so that at all times they felt comfortable.
In the middle of our route we decided to make a stop to enjoy the beautiful views and take some group pictures. Later we stopped at the Peña Caballista, a bar prepared for horses. We love to take a break and drink something there. Friends, drinks, tapas, sun and horses, what more could you ask for? That must be heaven.
After a great morning and about 5 hours on horseback, we arrived at Artequus, dismounted and showered our horses and finally, we were all able to share a delicious paella while we laughed and remembered the anecdotes we had previously experienced.
As you know, Artequus Equestrian Centre is much more than horseback riding, Miguel Barrionuevo and Alejandro Barrionuevo have created an equestrian family which shares joys and sorrows. Every member helps each other and gets glad every time someone reaches a goal.
